The inclusion of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) into the Asian Games sports system has been officially announced by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The decision to include MMA in the Asian Games system was made during coordination meetings for the Hangzhou Asian Games and the 6th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Chonburi, Thailand. This announcement marks a significant milestone for the sport, as it gains recognition and a platform to showcase its skills and talent on a larger stage.
The Mixed Martial Arts Association of Singapore (MMAAS), in collaboration with Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association (AMMA), is expected to play a key role in the development and organization of MMA events within the Asian Games system.
